History Edit

After Dres'Fialt's conquest and death, his sons, who served as Generals and Advisors, tore apart his would-be empire. The Fialta Imperium quickly became the highly fragmented Fialta States[1], united only in that their rulers all claim some kinship with or right of inheritance from Dres'Fialt and use these connections as pretexts for their endless infighting.

Not surprisingly, the Fialta have been a major market for arms dealers for centuries, and the large resource extraction operations needed to sustain their war efforts have generated frequent contracts with organizations such as The Knights Mercantile.

Society Edit

When not killing each other, the tiefling princes of the Fialta state grab worlds wherever they can and fend off the occasional opportunistic invasion.

It is the single largest region of the cosmos in which the Lords of the Pentacle are the dominant pantheon.

To this day, the Fialta States consist of a shifting patchwork of rival confederacies composed of warlords, theocrats and even the odd republic.

Caste System Edit

Fialta society (mostly dominated by Humans with traces of Demonic heritage) operates on a loose caste system, in which members of the martial and religious classes and certain supporting professions are considered "Fialta" while the rest of the population is subjugated.

For a citizen to be considered "Fialta," there is usually a claim of some inheritance from a Fialta member, however minor, of the original conquering warbands. They also must have at least nominal devotion to one of the deities of The Pentacle).

Advancement into the Upper-Class is common and often involuntary because of the high turnover within the Fialta soldiery and the endless efforts of press-gangers.
